Software & Web Consulting

Honest technical advice from 23+ years of experience. Technical assessments, architecture reviews, vendor evaluations, and second opinions you can actually act on.

One Bad Technology Decision Can Cost You Years.

Whether you inherited a system you don't understand, a vendor is making promises that don't add up, or you need a second opinion before signing a contract — get an honest read from someone with 20 years of scar tissue and no agenda.

20 Years of Experience, Working for You

Twenty years of experience means I've seen most of what you're dealing with before. I know what "bad" looks like in a codebase. I know what a vendor pitch sounds like when the numbers don't add up. And I know the difference between technical debt that can be managed and technical debt that's going to blow up in six months.

You get findings that are honest, specific, and actionable. Not a 200-page report that collects dust — just clear findings and the specific next steps you can act on immediately.

I'll tell you what I actually think. If your codebase is a mess, I'll say so — and then we'll figure out what to do about it.

What Does a Consulting Engagement Actually Look Like?

Most fall into one of three categories:

Technical Assessment — You inherited a codebase, you're about to sign a contract, or something has been wrong for a while and you need to know what you're actually dealing with. I review, analyze, and give you a clear picture. Fixed price, defined deliverable.

Vendor Evaluation — A vendor is pitching you something. I review the proposal, ask the questions they don't want asked, and tell you whether it's the right move — and if not, why.

Architecture Review — You're planning something significant (a rebuild, a platform change, a new product) and want to pressure-test the approach before committing. Fixed price, specific recommendations.

All engagements are fixed price. You know what you're paying before I start.

Common Questions

Then I've done my job. Honest assessments aren't always comfortable, but they're always more valuable than comfortable ones.

I can absolutely discuss that. I keep consulting and implementation separate so my assessment isn't influenced by the potential for follow-on work.

Confidentially. I'm happy to sign an NDA before we start. I never share client information or use proprietary details in other engagements.

Yes. Most consulting engagements happen remotely — document review, video calls, and screen shares cover the vast majority of what I need.

No. A post-decision assessment can still surface risks, identify negotiation points for contract amendments, and help you set up the right checkpoints going forward.

Staffing firms place bodies. I bring 20 years of relevant experience, no billing markup, and I'm accountable for the quality of my recommendations — not just for showing up.
